Happy new year everyone and welcome to my first article on the blog for 2021! I took a bit of a break from writing here for the last few months… I’ve been incredibly busy with my French language study, work and trying to relax over the summer holiday break here in Australia. I even managed to fit in some well-planned shopping after Christmas where I finally made a purchase that I’ve been thinking about for ages – the Hermès Clic H bracelet!

The Clic H bracelet

The Clic H bracelet is one of the most widely recognized and loved fashion jewellery items from la maison française, Hermès. It’s classic and also a perfect piece to invest in, especially if you are starting out on your Hermès journey. I’d been considering purchasing this for quite a while… and over the Christmas holidays I decided to finally take the plunge into the world of Hermès and walked into the Sydney boutique.

Instantly recognizable yet not gaudy, the Hermès Clic H is timeless in design. This bracelet features an oval shape which enables it to rest perfectly over your wrist or lower arm comfortably. Crafted mainly from enamel, the Clic H features contrasting plated hardware with the signature Hermès “H” clasp on the front.
A rainbow of colours and hardware
Hermès offers the Clic H in a rainbow of colours which is wonderful – it can also mean you might experience some indecision when it comes time to select just one colour! There are varying hardware options too, including yellow gold, rose gold and palladium. No surprises then that there’s a number of Clic H collectors out there, who delight in building up a collection of various colours, hardware and sizes. Initially I had my heart set on the white enamel with yellow gold hardware (YGHW), however I ended up changing my mind once trying on the bracelet in store.

White enamel was my preferred option – the neutral colour fits in seamlessly with my wardrobe and provides the versatility of wear. After trying on the rose gold hardware (RGHW) bracelet in white enamel, I ended up with deciding this was the perfect Clic H for me! I usually wear yellow gold jewellery and also have rose gold pieces as well, so either hardware option for the bracelet would’ve worked fine. Yet, the rose gold hardware looked a little prettier on my skin when compared to the yellow gold.
If you’re contemplating various different hardware options, I’d recommend you visit in store to try them on and compare for yourself. Hermès also offer the Clic H bracelet in a variety of colour designs and patterns. Apart from the plain enamel, there is a wide range of new designs, featuring motifs of horses, the letter H, zebras and even one with a space theme.
Fastening your Clic H bracelet

I must have spent a fair bit of time in store with the very helpful (and patient) sales assistant, practising how to fasten up the Clic H bracelet on my wrist! I find the bracelet is easy to unfasten – you simply press the bracelet with two fingers at the top & bottom. Then you swivel the H logo diagonally and the bracelet clicks open. I’m right-handed and tend the wear the bracelet on the same side, so it took a while to get the hang of unfastening it with my weaker left hand. Once you’ve practiced it a few times, it gets a lot easier to fasten on & off.
Clic H sizing options
The Clic H bracelet is offered in two different sizes. PM has a wrist size of 16.8cms and the GM has a wrist size of 18cms. I chose my bracelet in the PM size, which fits fairly snug on my lower forearm. In terms of comfort and appearance, I prefer to wear it on my lower forearm than wearing it over my wrist. I also feel that wearing it there which also holds the bracelet in place may protect the rose gold hardware over time from getting too many scratches.

Clic Clac H – the big sister bracelet!

Hermès Clic H is the little sister of the Clic Clac H bracelet. The Clic Clac H bracelet is identical in design… where it differs is in terms of size. Clic Clac H has a width measurement of 20mm, compared to the smaller width of approx. 11mm for the Clic H bracelet. The larger Clic Clac H is evidently a statement piece.
Divine Hermès packaging

Another thing I adore (almost as much as the actual bracelet) is the luxe packaging from Hermès! The Clic H bracelet sits in a dark brown/black Hermès protective bag, which is velvety to the touch and features their logo on the front flap. The H logo and the hardware piece on the underside of the bracelet will have a protective sticker which you can peel off before you wear it for the first time.

Inside the box there are also two mini booklets – one is the care instructions with confirmation of the bracelet colour and hardware type and the other is an instruction booklet for how to fasten/unfasten the bracelet. The Clic H is packaged up inside a petite square Hermès box in their signature orange shade. It’s fastened with a dark brown ribbon, featuring the Hermès Paris logo. And the receipt is a white card with the H logo embossed on the front. I adore the Hermès packaging and love the dark brown colour of the ribbon against their orange packaging!

As previously mentioned here on the blog in my review of the Dior Tribales pearl earrings, jewellery is a fantastic way to begin investing in a luxury brand. It’s a versatile way to personalize an outfit and also express your own unique sense of style. I’m finding that as I get older my style choices are maturing – gone are the days where I reach for attention grabbing accessories. Simplicity and classic options are now what attract me more than ever and the Hermès Clic H encapsulates these qualities effortlessly. This bracelet is truly an investment piece which will remain with you, never mind how much your personal style in terms of clothing may change!
I hope you have enjoyed this review of the Hermès Clic H bracelet and found it useful! I’d love to hear your thoughts on this bracelet, so feel free to share them in the comments below here on the blog!
