Dior tribales pearl earrings with stars

Dior – renowned for elegance since 1947

I’ve always been fascinated by Christian Dior’s signature Tribales earrings. The iconic double pearl style was released by Dior back in 2013 as part of their pre-fall collection. These earrings, which have subsequently inspired a cascade of dupes, are designed to be worn with the larger pearl at the back of the lobe and the smaller at the front. In short, they are a statement and whilst I adore classic single pearl stud earrings, there is something unique about Dior’s Tribales.

A birthday gift…

Recently for my birthday I found myself in the Dior boutique in Sydney. I was initially deciding between a pair of pearl studs from Tiffany & Co (to replace a pair I had previously lost) or a pair of Chanel logo drop pearl earrings. After visiting both Tiffany’s and Chanel and finding out that neither of the exact earrings I was after were available, I headed into the Dior boutique on Castlereagh Street in the city, which is where the magic happened!

Entering into Dior is an experience within itself – the interior design of the Sydney boutique encapsulates elegance and refinement. The white décor with mirrors & chandeliers reinforce the elegant “look” which Dior is renowned for and the sales assistants are welcoming. I headed straight for the jewellery section as I was interested in viewing Dior’s Tribales earrings, in the plain pearl design. These were lovely however when the Sales Assistant brought out the Tribales pearls with a touch of gold on them, I knew I had to take a closer look.

The Dior Tribales earrings

This is when I discovered the Dior Tribales star earrings and immediately fell in love with them. They are essentially a dressed-up ballgown version of the Tribales pearls, with an elegant star adorning the small front pearl and the Dior logo dressing up the larger back pearl. The sweet star inspired design is a masterstroke and given I am infinitely attracted to anything remotely astronomical or astrological, my mind was instantly made up that these were the dream pair of earrings for me!

The Dior Tribales star & logo earrings are actually new in Dior’s collection, which a quick look on their website will confirm. The pearls are faux, comprised of white resin with gold-finish metal. The large back pearl measures in at 1.6cm diameter whilst the smaller front pearl measures 8mm in diameter. They feature an integrated clasp and feel comfortable to wear. As would be expected, the price is on par with earrings from other luxury designer brands such as Chanel and are a higher price point that the plain pearl Tribales earrings.

If you’re looking to buy into a brand, then starting off with jewellery or small accessories is a great to way enter into their world of style.
