Autumn is one of my most favourite seasons – the cool mornings & evenings, crisp air and sunshine filled days always seem to feel so calming. However, when it comes to style, this season has always been particularly tricky for me and my wardrobe. In Winter you’ll find me rugged up in gorgeous wool coats, leather gloves, scarves & boots. Spring & summer are when I have a wardrobe palette of pastels & bright white in floaty fabrics, prancing around Sydney in open toed sandals. But Autumn? Much trickier for me, especially in terms of styles and a colour palette that matches well with my complexion.
Thanks to a recent style collaboration, I’ve discovered an Australian owned & designed sustainable fashion label called Bamboo Body. After trying out a couple of key pieces, I’ve fallen in love with their range and admire their focus on sustainability, which is becoming an important consideration especially within the fashion industry. Knitwear & dresses which are super comfortable to wear and in tones perfect for the cooler Autumn weather – think all kinds of neutrals along with green, brown, plum, red, navy & teal shades; offsetting nature’s changing colours of the current season.
One of the dresses I’ve particularly loved wearing is their Audrey long sleeved dress, in the light milk chocolatey tone Woodrose. I’ve paired it with black accessories to add some depth to the outfit, however I think this dress would also look beautiful styled back with beige or light pink accessories. The Audrey dress is perfect for Autumn – long sleeves, knee-length, luxuriously soft material and pretty ruching, finished off with a shape-defining waist tie, all combine to create an ideal piece perfect for any day of the week. This is a dress I’d feel comfortable wearing to the office and on the weekends; plus it can even be dressed up in the evenings as well with some jewellery, statement heels and a sparkly clutch bag.
Another reason I’ve been so impressed with Bamboo Body is because they source their material from organically grown bamboo – one of the most sustainable & renewable resources on the planet! Using such a high quality of bamboo results in fabrics which are not only natural & free of chemicals, but also incredibly soft on the skin, breathable & lightweight. For any eco-conscious style lovers, Bamboo Body also ensure their production follows ethical & sustainable practices; no one under 18 years of age is employed and the company is committed to ensuring fair working conditions and remuneration levels.
Additionally, they don’t use any plastic packaging at all, so you can not only look good but also feel good about your purchases. And even better (aside from even having a dedicated maternity wear range), Bamboo Body design clothes for both men & women – really epitomizing their purpose of “clothes for everybody”. From before the rack to after, this is a brand I feel proud to support & recommend; also impressed with the fact that so many pieces from their range mix & match back, allowing you to create a myriad of looks from a few items, all with a classic style.
Some of the other pieces from their range I have my eye on for Autumn include the Ada Bamboo boat neck top, long sleeve Wrap dress and the Crew Neck knit top. For the warmer weather, their Jasper ruched dress and Eadie top look super comfortable and versatile. With classic designs in a wide range of colours at prices which won’t break the bank, and a sustainable fashion focus, Bamboo body is a brand you’re going to be seeing in my wardrobe for many years to come! You can check out more of their range on their website, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest.
